Children’s Art Workshop and It’s Garlic Time!By Sue Parkison
Our last workshop, Vegetable Gardening for Children, was a “sold out” success with every available spot taken. The next two upcoming events at the Lachat Town Farm promise to be equally well attended!
On Saturday, July 18, at 9:00 a.m. Mike Smith, of Dirt Road Farm, will discuss all things garlic while the Farm’s garlic crop is harvested. The community is invited to come by and take advantage of Mike’s expertise with all your garlic planting, harvesting and storage questions. No registration is necessary.
On Saturday, July 25, from 9:00 to 10:30 local artist Liz Ward will lead a
Children’s Art Workshop. With supplied acid free printmaking paper and oil pastels
the young artists, ages 8 and up, will have the opportunity to make art with the professional guidance of Ms. Ward. She will also be discussing the different elements of composition, color and infusing energy into the work.
The workshop is limited to 10 participants, register at lachattownfarm.org.
These events are free to the public, rain or shine and made available by a grant from the Weston Educational Foundation.
