Wish I could knit…I can learn at the Weston Farmers’ Market Today at 10 am

Meet and be inspired by Ellen Lane, founder of Knit One, Nibble One at this week’s Weston Farmers’ Market. She will be available at 10 am to offer a knitting demonstration and to talk about how volunteer knitters help comfort women undergoing chemotherapy at the Smilow Family Breast Health Cancer at Norwalk Hospital with the “healing shawls” that they make. Nibbles are the cookies Ms. Lane provides to the volunteer knitters as they knit.

Kits containing yarn, needles, and directions for knitting healing shawls will be for sale at the Farmers’ Market for those interested in hopping onto the bandwagon.

The farmers’ market, which emphasizes seasonality and local goods, opens every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Weston Historical Society on Rte 57 at High Acre Road. Whether one is in the market for apple pie or bath and beauty care, the Weston Farmers Market is a hub for all things artisan.
