Bike Parade and Old-Fashioned Fun at Pequot Library – July 4th

Thanks for the tip, ET!

Every Fourth of July, rain or shine—(almost always shine!), participants of all ages arrive at the Five Corners in Southport Village with their decorated bikes, scooters, and wagons to form a parade. Led by a Fairfield Police bicycle escort, the parade kicks off at 10am sharp. Destination: the Great Lawn of the Library, where fun awaits. Hot dogs and drinks are available. The activities include traditional sack races, a hula hoop contest, an American Revolution trivia contest (one quiz per family working together), and face painting for the little ones. All are welcome to start out this summer holiday with a morning celebrating our national heritage at the local level, in the spirit of community.
There will also be food and facepainting.
