SafeRides of Weston provides a safe ride home each Saturday night from nine-thirty pm to two am for any student who needs one. Its primary goal is prevent needless deaths. The program is entirely volunteer supported by students and parents, however, students have been paying for the gas to drive their peers out of their own pockets.
“SafeRides is a wonderful asset for Weston youth to have available to them,” said Heather Pemberton Levy, President of the Weston Women’s League. “We selected SafeRides as a beneficiary for Main Street Weston with the hope that we can fund their fuel costs for the entire 2011-2012 year. We hope Weston residents will shop Main Street Weston for one night to help keep Weston’s main streets safe all year long.”
