11/1/2011 5:58:40 PM EST – This is a Code Red update for the Town of Weston on Tuesday, November 1at 6 pm.
To date, CL&P has restored power to 1400 customers in Weston. Fresh crews will continue to work through this evening. We still do not have reliable restoration estimates. Statewide, CL&P is giving restoration estimates of approximately one week.
The emergency shelter and comfort station located at the rear entrance of the Weston Middle School will remain open until further notice from 6am until 9 pm. Please bring your towels and toiletries. Overnight accommodations are available at the Miller-Driscoll School in Wilton, located at 217 Wolfpit Road. Directions are available at Town Hall and at the Middle School. If you need assistance to find to that location, please go to the Weston Middle School by 9 pm.
Town Hall will be open tomorrow from 9- 5, the Senior Center will be open from 9-2, and the Town library will be open from 9- 8 for internet access and charging capabilities. The High School library will be open 8-4-, and movies will run in the HS auditorium throughout the day. Wi-Fi is available in the high school lobby.
