Westport/Weston Families to Host Students visiting from Spain, Germany and Hong Kong.
Additional Host Families Needed
Would you like your family to have an international experience? Consider hosting an international student. At the end of July and August, high school aged students from Spain, Germany and Hong Kong will be visiting the Westport/Weston area on a language and culture program sponsored by EF Educational Homestay Programs.
This is the second year that EF has brought students to Fairfield County. Last year, many Fairfield County families were hosts to students who came to improve their English skills and learn about American culture. The main difference between other foreign exchange programs and the EF program is the duration of the visit. While many programs require families to commit to a full semester or year of hosting, the length of the EF programs allows hosts to open their homes for just a 3-4 week stay.
The students will attend daily classes at Christ and Holy Trinity Church in downtown Westport. In the afternoon, they will participate in field trips to local beaches, museums, and sight seeing trips to New York City. Families are asked to provide a bed, three meals per day and a warm nurturing environment as well as transportation to and from downtown Westport in the morning and evening. Host families will receive a stipend of $100 per week per student.
