Many of you have probably driven by it many times on the way to Wilton Center and did not even realized this cute hub (don’t let “Fine American Furniture” fool you, though there is furniture for sale by a separate entity) where you can drop in; grab an iced-tea or coffee to enjoy with a chocolate chip cookie, cupcake, croissant, macaroon, or other snack; and chat away with friendly locals (including the owners, Jeena and Frank). Have your kids with you? No worries, they’ve set up a coloring table. Just be mindful that they are able to reach the cookie jar by the serving table and help themselves.
This “gourmet ‘pop-up’ destination” was set up to bring locals together: local goodies from area artisans, services, and families (from Wilton and beyond). I loved how Jeena and Frank greeted the regular customers by name and vice versa. It’s nice.
Moms in Weston, CT met up this morning and we all had a great time! The spacious table in the middle of the room was perfect for our gathering. Our kids’ favorites? Ruby Slippers Tea and chocolate chip cookies. Yes, we plan to go back again and again. Look out for our next event at this well-hidden gem!
Babycat Milkbar is located at 300 Danbury Road in Wilton. Follow them on Twitter (@ctmilkbar) and Facebook. They are open Mondays through Saturdays, 9 am – 5 pm through the end of July. Keep giving them positive feedback and they’ll reopen in September! Like their Mamacat’s Q. Teas? You can buy them online or look for them at local farmers’ markets this summer. Ask for a sample; you’ll be delighted, too.
Oh, it doesn’t look like it, but they do accept credit cards, and no amount is too small. How do you like that?
