State park museums and historic sites that will be open free of charge this Saturday, June 11th, for Connecticut Open House include:

Beckley Furnace State Park, North Canaan: 10 to 2 p.m.
Civilian Conservation Corps Museum at Shenipsit State Forest, Stafford: 12 to 4 p.m.
Dinosaur State Park, Rocky Hill: 9 to 4:30 p.m.
Fort Griswold State Park, Groton: 9 to 5 p.m.
Fort Trumbull State Park, New London: 9 to 5 p.m.
Gillette Castle State Park, East Haddam: 10 to 4:30 p.m.
Harkness Memorial State Park, Waterford: 10 to 2 p.m.
Heublein Tower at Talcott Mountain State Park, Simsbury: 10 to 5 p.m.
Osborne Homestead Museum, Derby: 10 to 4 p.m.
Putnam Memorial State Park, Redding: 10 to 5 p.m.
Stone Museum at Peoples State Forest, Barkhamsted: 10 to 4:30 p.m.
Topsmead State Forest, Litchfield: 12 to 5 p.m.

  1. We just visited Gillette Castle and it was great! Check out the inside of the castle and then take a hike down to the left of the castle and follow the sign to the ferry. There is a small beach down there on the river with grills and picnic tables.
