March 4, 2011 (WESTON, CT) — Tickets are going fast for St. Patrick’s/St. Joseph’s Fest — the March fund-raiser and celebration of Irish and Italian culture at St. Francis of Assisi.  The event which kicks off at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 19th at the parish hall, 35 Norfield Road, Weston.  Parishioners, family, and friends are all invited to join in the fun.  Proceeds will benefit St. Francis.

The evening will feature dinner, dancing, and both silent and live auctions.  Excitement is mounting for items such as a Bahamas vacation, Vermont ski weekend, coveted tickets to a Taylor Swift Hartford concert, a Yankees vs. Red Sox game at Fenway Park and a Jets game.  Also bid-worthy are a hot air balloon ride, a catered dinner party by Dash of Salt, a Duke Lacrosse tickets package, themed baskets and more.  St. Francis Pastor, Father Michael Dunn, has even pitched in with the donation of a Deep-fried Cajun Turkey prepared by him at your home.  Tax-deductible financial donations are welcomed and may be mailed directly to St. Francis of Assisi, c/o Auction Committee, 35 Norfield Road, Weston, CT 06883.  “Donations in the form of both goods and services have been pouring it.  We’re truly appreciative of this support from individuals and local vendors,” said Cheryl Bryant Komar, event co-chair.

Boston DJ, Don Carpenito, will provide the evening’s dance music and specializes in mobile entertainment throughout New England.  Tickets are $75 per person and may be purchased by calling Peggy Shaeffer at 203.451.8239.  Attire is “smart casual” and the event is for adults only.  “The night is really taking shape and will be a true community-builder.  St. Patrick’s/St. Joseph’s Fest goes beyond parish borders as friends of friends are attending,” said Bernie Park, event co-chair.  For more information, visit
