Review and Giveaway: New Hefty basics Paper Plates

New Hefty basics plates

When I see “Hefty” I immediately think of the trash bag commercial and the chant, “Hefty Hefty Hefty!” Anyway, Hefty has new biodegradable plates that are certainly not wimpy. We use paper plates when we have pizza or sometimes when we have our “snack attacks” (family mini-parties on weekends and holidays). One might assume that a “Green” plate is going to soil readily and leak. No, not these plates. They survived the runny salsa test. More importantly, they survived the greasy pizza test during one of our Daisy Scout meetings. We did not have to double the plates because they were never soaked through at all. We were very impressed with the thickness of the plates, thus keeping its promise of being strong and durable. Hefty basics paper plates come in two sizes: 10-1/4 inches (shown above) and 8-5/8 inches. They are available in most retail stores. Another perk: Box Tops points for your school! 1. I use paper plates to feed my kittens! 🙂

  2. My friend and her 4 kids came over the other day and as I was getting out the china and kidware plastic stuff she implored me to use paper plates. “Good idea,” I said, and was so happy when I didn’t have to spend an hour after they left doing dishes! I also serve my son with them sometimes because he tends to throw his plates onto the floor like Zorba. Lastly, when I take someone cookies I load up a paper plate to cart them around.
